Description
The Driver/Shipping Associate at IMH Products plays a pivotal role, spending 50% of their time behind the wheel, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of materials, products, and equipment within and outside the facility. They skillfully operate various vehicles and handling equipment, prioritizing secure loading and unloading practices while strictly adhering to traffic laws and stringent company safety protocols. Additionally, this role encompasses the remaining 50% within the manufacturing facility, where the driver actively assists with shipping duties. This multifaceted position demands meticulous record-keeping and seamless coordination with different departments to fulfill transportation requirements effectively. Candidates are expected to hold a valid driver’s license, maintain a clean driving record, and demonstrate unwavering commitment to vehicle maintenance and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Driver
- Safely operate and maintain various vehicles, including trucks, vans, forklifts, or other specialized equipment, to transport materials, finished products, and equipment within the manufacturing facility.
- Load and unload materials, components, and finished products using appropriate handling equipment and techniques, ensuring no damage or loss during transit.
- Deliver products to customers, suppliers, or other designated locations following established schedules and routes, while ensuring the secure and intact delivery of items.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections, maintenance, and cleaning to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, delivery schedules, and any relevant paperwork, such as delivery receipts or shipment manifests.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures, to ensure a safe and secure working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff, production teams, and other departments to coordinate transportation requirements and maintain effective communication channels.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Shipping
- Safely and securely package products for shipment, including proper labeling and documentation to comply with shipping regulations.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain shipping records, including packing lists, and BOL’s, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the production team, customer service, and logistics partners to coordinate and communicate shipment status, delays, or any other relevant information.
- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Record all activities in the inventory management system, updating stock levels as needed.
- Provide shipping updates and tracking information to customers as needed.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to safety regulations and best practices in all activities.
Qualifications
- 2 years of previous experience as a professional driver.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of vehicles and handling equipment.
- Valid Chauffer’s license with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws and routes.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate documentation.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and computer systems.
- Able to accurately record, calculate and maintain records. Basic math skills are required.

- Physical lifting and movement: Ability to walk or stand 8-12 hours a day. Ability to lift, push, pull or move 50 pounds. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend, climb, or reach above the shoulders.
